Shrewsbury manager Graham Turner has revealed he has been underwhelmed by some of his loan signings.

The Shrews currently have five loan signings on their books, but Turner admits he has not been overly impressed by some of his recruitment. The New Meadow boss did reveal he will receive backing to further strengthen his struggling squad during the January transfer window, as they seek to resurrect their ailing league form.

"There's been a tinge of disappointment with one or two of the earlier loan signings and their performances," he told the Shropshire Star.

"I think they would feel they've not had the impact they would have liked to have.

"If we can get to January then we can strengthen.

"The chairman has made it clear there is scope to add to the squad.

"The chairman has backed me in everything I've wanted to do and will continue to do that, I have no doubts."
