The nominations for the npower League 1 Manager of the Month award for January have been announced.
They are as follows:-
Paolo Di Canio (Swindon Town)
With three wins and two draws, Paolo Di Canio's Swindon Town underlined their promotion credentials with a series of impressive displays. Three home wins out of three, including convincing victories against Carlisle United and Portsmouth, were supported by away draws against in-form Bournemouth and Leyton Orient. Finishing the month in third place and just six points behind the automatic places, Di Canio's outfit will only be looking in one direction as the season heads to its conclusion.
Dean Smith (Walsall)
Four league wins out of five saw Dean Smith's Walsall jump from 16th to 11th place in npower League 1 in January. A loss to Colchester United denied the Saddlers a perfect month, but with victories including a convincing 3-1 defeat of high-flying Bournemouth and a comprehensive 3-1 away win at Preston North End, Dean Smith's men might now have half an eye on a late push for the Play-Offs.
Gary Johnson (Yeovil Town)
Cup commitments and adverse weather conditions meant that Yeovil Town only managed three league fixtures in January, but Gary Johnson's men made sure they kept up their Play-Off chase by winning them all. An impressive away victory against promotion-chasing Sheffield United was sandwiched between two home wins against Leyton Orient and Milton Keynes Dons, meaning the Glovers finished January just three points off the Play-Off places.
The winners will be announced on Friday live on Sky Sports News, from 9am.
