Colchester United v Crawley Town
Colchester United and Crawley Town sit side-by-side in the Sky Bet League 1 table and go head-to-head on Saturday.
The U's started the season brightly, winning their first two, but have since failed to record a three-point haul, losing two and drawing their other three. In their last outing they shared the points with Bradford City, leaving them 11th.
Crawley are two points ahead of Colchester and are unbeaten in three, with two of those matches ending in their favour.
Gillingham v Bradford City
Following their draw with Colchester, Bradford's next match is against Gillingham at the Priestfield Stadium.
The two teams were promoted from League 2 together last term but have endured contrasting starts to this season.
Bradford are eighth having lost just once, while the Gills are yet to taste a win, drawing three and losing their other four.
Notts County v Tranmere Rovers
Notts County prop up the Sky Bet League 1 table and host Tranmere Rovers.
County have just one point so far, losing six of their seven matches. Their most recent game ended in a 5-1 thumping at the hands of leaders Leyton Orient.
Tranmere haven't fared much better but they have tabled a victory, against Oldham Athletic. Ronnie Moore's men sit 17th on five points.
Oldham Athletic v Crewe Alexandra
Crewe Alexandra also have one victory so far this term and they visit Oldham.
The Railwaymen have only managed to gain one point from their last four matches and were comprehensively beaten 3-0 by Walsall last weekend.
The Latics have lost their last three on the bounce - against Tranmere, Preston North End and Rotherham United - but have only been defeated by Crewe once in the last eight meetings between the two teams.
Peterborough United v Milton Keynes Dons
Milton Keynes Dons remain unbeaten in Sky Bet League 1 and they travel to promotion rivals Peterborough United.
The Dons have chalked up three wins and four draws to lie sixth, while Posh are second after five victories, a draw and a solitary loss.
These two haven't met since the 2011 League 1 Play-Off semi-finals, when Peterborough ran out 4-3 winners over two legs. Posh eventually went on to secure promotion to the Championship.
Britt Assombalonga took his tally to seven goals this season after notching a brace in Peterborough United's 3-0 success at Bristol City last weekend
Port Vale v Coventry City
Coventry City have climbed out of the bottom four after a scintillating run of form and they make the journey to Port Vale on Saturday.
Steven Pressley's Sky Blues beat Gillingham last time out and that was their fourth win in six, with the other two games ending level - enough to see them up to 20th.
Port Vale are 14th with seven points and come into their first meeting with Coventry since 1964 after narrowly losing to Leyton Orient last weekend.
Sheffield United v Preston North End
Sheffield United have had a poor start to the season and face Preston North End, who are yet to lose.
The Blades won on the opening day against Notts County but have since lost five and drawn once. They haven't been beaten by Preston in four meetings, winning three of those.
The Lilywhites drew their opening four games but have since won three on the bounce, to lift them to fifth.
Shrewsbury Town v Wolverhampton Wanderers
In Saturday's 1pm kick-off, Shrewsbury Town welcome Wolverhampton Wanderers.
Both of the teams were in action on Tuesday night with the Shrews drawing 1-1 at Bristol City and Wolves losing at home to Walsall.
That was Shrewsbury's fourth consecutive draw, while Wolves' loss to the Saddlers was their first defeat of the season. Prior to that match they had won five and drew one to start life in League 1 positively.
Stevenage v Carlisle United
Carlisle United were victors against Sheffield United last weekend, to notch their first win of the season, and now visit Stevenage.
Matty Robson scored the only goal of the game for the Cumbrians against the Blades and that got life after Greg Abbott at Brunton Park off to a winning start.
Like Carlisle, Stevenage only have one win so far, which came against Notts County. Since that three-point haul, they have drawn twice and lost once, which came last time out at Preston.
Matty Robson found the net to help Carlisle United to their first win of the campaign at home Sheffield United last time out
Swindon Town v Bristol City
Bristol City remain winless in Sky Bet League 1 and are on the road to Swindon Town.
Jay Emmanuel-Thomas netted his sixth goal of the season to save a point for the Robins in midweek against Shrewsbury Town, but that result extended their wait for a first victory.
Swindon have been inconsistent to date, winning twice, drawing twice and losing three times, but they are unbeaten in seven against Bristol City.
Walsall v Rotherham United
Walsall and Rotherham United are battling towards the top end of the table and clash at the Banks's Stadium.
The Saddlers triumphed 1-0 at near-neighbours Wolves on Tuesday night in front of over 22,000 and that gave them successive victories, following two straight losses.
Rotherham are unbeaten, sitting fourth, and have momentum after notching three wins on the spin, the latest coming at the New York Stadium against Oldham.
