Brentford manager Mark Warburton has been named the Sky Bet League 1 Manager of the Month for December.

Four wins out of four by a 10-3 aggregate scoreline won over Brentford players and supporters alike, as Warburton proved himself savvy by resisting the urge to tinker.

Alan Curbishley, who chairs the Sky Bet Manager of the Month judging panel, said: "Mark Warburton has made an immediate impact on his managerial career by leading Brentford to the top of Sky Bet League 1.

"Four wins from four in December ensure The Bees are perfectly placed to start the New Year."

Sky Sports' Football League pundit Don Goodman said: "Mark Warburton's managerial career began with a four-game winning streak, continuing Brentford's brilliant run of form that started under Uwe Rosler.

"Top of the table and another win away at promotion rivals Peterborough at the start of January would have been a massive boost for the fans to start the year."

Sky Bet Head of Football Paul Wiggins said: "The internal appointment at Brentford looks to have worked wonders with the Bees winning every league game in December.

"This has taken them to first place in the Sky Bet League 1 table and they have a real chance of gaining promotion to the Sky Bet Championship.

"Warburton will be looking towards top scorer Clayton Donaldson and December Player of the Month Sam Saunders to maintain their form as January progresses."
