Tranmere Rovers have been relegated to Sky Bet League 2 after a 2-1 defeat at home to Bradford City.

Rovers were in the highest relegation place going into Saturday's final round of fixtures, one point from safety, but their result at home to Bradford prevented John McMahon's men from climbing out of the bottom four.

It brings to an end Tranmere's run of 13 seasons in English football's third tier, consigning them to The Football League's bottom division for the first time since the 1988/89 campaign.
