Gillingham striker Danny Kedwell has signed a new two-year deal with the club.

Kedwell, who joined the Gills from AFC Wimbledon in the summer of 2011, was set to be out of contract but will now remain at Priestfield until the end of the 2015/16 season.

Kedwell was an integral part of the side that clinched promotion last season and he began the new campaign with 10 goals in his first 21 matches before a hernia problem at the turn of the year kept him out for five weeks.

He then damaged knee ligaments after falling awkwardly during a development squad fixture which delayed his first-team comeback.

The 30-year-old did eventually return, featuring in the final two home matches against Tranmere and Shrewsbury.

In total Kedwell has scored 40 goals in 118 matches in all competitions for the Gills.
