Bradford City have signed goalkeeper Jordan Pickford on a season-long loan deal from Sunderland.

The 20-year-old's move comes a month after he signed a new four-year deal at the Stadium of Light.

Pickford, 6ft 1in, has had loan spells at Darlington, Alfreton, Burton and most recently Carlisle since progressing through the ranks at Sunderland.

He spent the second half of last season at Carlisle, appearing 18 times for the Cumbrians, who were relegated to Sky Bet League Two.

Pickford, called up for international duty with England at various youth levels, is expected to be involved in City's pre-season fixture against Farsley on Tuesday.
