DOUBLE TOP

AFC Bournemouth returned to the top of Coca-Cola League 2 after they beat Macclesfield Town 2-1 at Moss Rose thanks to a double strike from striker Brett Pitman.

Rochdale leapfrogged Dagenham & Redbridge into second place when they defeated the Daggers 2-1 at the London Borough of Barking & Dagenham Stadium.

Goals from Kallum Higginbotham and Craig Dawson turned the game on its head to win it for Keith Hill's side after Peter Gain had opened the scoring for the home team.

HIGH SCORING

Darlington were on the wrong end of a 5-2 score-line as Chesterfield proved too strong for Steve Staunton's team.

TWO HALVES

It was a game of two halves at Sixfields Stadium as Northampton Town drew 2-2 against Crewe Alexandra after being 2-0 down at half time.

An own-goal from loan defender John Johnson and a strike from Clayton Donaldson gave Dario Gradi's side a half-time lead but Cobblers' striker Adebayo Akinfenwa scored a brace to grab his side a share of the points.
