HAT-TRICK HERO

Rochdale extended their lead at the top of Coca-Cola League 2 with a thumping 4-1 win away at Cheltenham Town. With Bournemouth suffering defeat at the hands of Aldershot Town, free scoring Dale took full advantage thanks to a hat-trick from Chris O'Grady and one from Craig Dawson to take their goal difference to a whopping 33 goals, the biggest margin in all three divisions.

Michael Townsend had grabbed a 90th minute consolation for the Robins before O'Grady struck for his hat-trick three minutes into injury time.

KEEPING UP THE PRESSURE

It wasn't a good time for the Cherries to slip-up, the four sides directly beneath Bournemouth were all winners.

Shrewsbury Town were the pick of those teams after edging out Dagenham & Redbridge who also occupy a Play-Off position.

All the goals arrived in the first half and despite Paul Benson netting first for the visitors Dave Hibbert levelled five minutes later and Steven Leslie grabbed what proved to be the winner in the fourth minute of first half injury time.

Scott Doe was later sent off for the Daggers to compound their misery as the Shrews notched up their third win in four matches.

BACK IN THE HABIT

Crewe Alexandra and Burton Albion were both celebrating their first wins since 12th December today.

Calvin Zola grabbed two goals in nine first half minutes with a Joel Grant strike sandwiched in between as Crewe did what they needed to do to see off the League's bottom side Darlington and end a run of four games without a victory.

The Brewers came from two down to steal all three points with a winner six minutes from time. It had all looked so good for the Gulls early on when Scott Rendell and Chris Robertson had put them 2-0 up after only quarter of an hour.

Russell Penn pulled one back shortly after the half hour mark and Shaun Harrad put them back on level terms eleven minutes into the second period, leaving the stage set for Cleveland Taylor to claim the win after 84 minutes.
