Former Norwich City Manager John Deehan has joined Coca-Cola League 2 side Grimsby Town as Head of Recruitment.

The 52-year-old will help out Manager Neil Woods as the club looks to avoid dropping out of The Football League.

The Mariners currently sit second bottom in the table, six points from safety and speaking of the appointment Neil Woods told gtfc.co.uk: "He will come in and help in any way that he can do.

"His job will be to go out and watch players. He's very experienced and he will help us build a database of short term and potential long term player targets."
