Crawley Town moved to the top of npower League 2 after their 2-1 win over Shrewsbury Town as Southend United slipped up against Morecambe.

Sergio Torres gave Crawley the lead in the sixth minute with a left-footed strike from close range before Dean Howell doubled the advantage just before the break from a 20-yard free-kick. Mark Wright pulled a consolation goal back for Shrewsbury in the 72nd minute.

Barnet came from behind to beat Aldershot Town 2-1 thanks to a 63rd-minute penalty by Steve Kabba and a strike by Ricky Holmes after Danny Hylton gave Aldershot the lead in the first half.

Hereford United beat 10-man Bradford City 2-0 thanks to Steven Leslie's score from a 30-yard free-kick and Tom Barkhuizen's 89th-minute strike.

On Friday night Port Vale moved up to sixth with a 3-0 home win over Northampton Town with Tom Pope (five), Anthony Griffith (19) and John McCombe (26) getting on the scoresheet.

Bristol Rovers fought off a Rotherham United fightback to win 5-2, after leading 3-0 at one stage.

Rotherham, who also had a player dismissed, fought back to 3-2 but Rovers went on to complete an emphatic win.

Scott McGleish scored twice for Rovers, the second a penalty, and their other goals came from Cian Bolger, Lee Brown and Joe Anyinsah.

Rotherham's goals came from Jason Taylor and Danny Schofield but they ended the game with 10 men after Guy Branston was sent off with the score 3-2.

HAPPY TRIPS HOME

Swindon Town beat Accrington Stanley 2-0 at the Crown Ground to seal only their second away win of the season. Jake Jervis put Swindon in front six minutes before the break with an 18-yard strike before Cristian Montano sealed the win with his 58th-minute strike.

Gillingham beat Torquay United 5-2 at Plainmoor thanks to a brace from Jo Kuffour and goals by Frank Nouble, Chris Whelpdale and a penalty by Luke Rooney

Crewe Alexandra beat AFC Wimbledon 3-1 thanks to second-half goals by Nick Powell, Adam Dugdale and Ajay Leitch-Smith.

Plymouth Argyle came from behind to beat 10-man Dagenham and Redbridge 3-2 thanks to Simon Walton's 90th minute penalty.

On Friday night two second half goals gave Cheltenham Town victory against Burton at the Pirelli Stadium.

The win moved Cheltenham into the automatic promotion places for a few hours, Josh Low (46 minutes) and James Spencer (64) getting the goals which left their opponents in ninth.

ALL SQUARE

Southend dropped points at home against 10-man Morecambe as their match finished in a 1-1 draw. Phil Jevons scored for the visitors in the 53rd minute before he was sent off 20 minutes later for a poor challenge on Michael Timlin. Morecambe midfielder Stewart Drummond then turned the ball into the back of his own net in the 83rd minute.

Macclesfield Town drew 1-1 with Oxford United as Robert Hall's last-minute strike cancelled out Macclesfield defender Tony Diagne's headed goal at Moss Rose.
