LAST GASP GOALS
Jo Kuffour's hat-trick and Danny Kedwell's last-minute penalty gave Gillingham a 4-3 win despite a plucky comeback from Northampton Town. Kuffour struck in the 11th and 30th minutes for the Gills and, after Saido Berahino pulled one back five minutes later, he completed his hat-trick from the spot moments before the break.
Kelvin Langmead reduced the deficit nine minutes into the second period and Berahino's second on the hour made it 3-3 before Kedwell's late intervention sealed it for the Gills.
Nick Fenton scored four minutes into injury time to earn Morecambe a 1-1 draw and deny npower League 2 basement boys Plymouth Argyle a rare win. Simon Walton's 31st-minute goal had looked like being enough for the Pilgrims.
HAPPY TRIPS HOME
Shrewsbury Town were 2-0 winners at Dagenham & Redbridge despite playing 65 minutes with 10 men. The Shrews were ahead in the sixth minute through Terry Gornell but James Wallace saw red after 25 minutes.
Dagenham could not find a leveller, though, and when Scott Doe fouled James Collins in the box in second-half stoppage time, earning a red card in the process, Collins converted from the spot to make it two.
Kaid Mohamed's eighth-minute strike was enough to give Cheltenham Town a 1-0 win at Bradford City and lift his side to third and Lukas Magera's 25th minute goal and Mehdi Kerrouche's penalty four minutes after the break gave Swindon Town a 2-0 win at Port Vale.
Torquay United eased to a 3-0 win at Crewe Alexandra with goals from Rene Howe (Nine), Lee Mansell (52) and Billy Bodin (68).
ELSEWHERE IN THE DIVISION
Ryan Hall's second-half strike saw Southend United beat battling Oxford United 2-1 and pull two-points clear at the top of npower League 2.
Mark Phillips netted on the stroke of half-time for the hosts and, after Damian Batt deservedly levelled in the 62nd minute, Hall's long-range effort in the 67th minute sealed the points for the leaders.
Second-placed Crawley Town lost ground as they could only draw 1-1 at Hereford United. Tom Barkhuizen was on target after nine minutes for the hosts, but Crawley levelled through Andy Drury four minutes before half-time.
AFC Wimbledon and Barnet drew 1-1, with Izale McLeod breaking the deadline for the Bees on the stroke of half-time and Sammy Moore levelling three minutes after the hour mark.
Micah Evans scored on debut as Accrington Stanley beat Bristol Rovers 2-1. 18-year-old Evans, on loan from Blackburn Rovers, and Kevin Long (30) put Stanley two goals up, before Joe Anyinsah pulled one back three minutes after half-time. Stanley had Peter Murphy dismissed in the dying seconds.
First-half strikes from Lewis Grabban (14) and Chris Holroyd (41) gave Rotherham United a 2-0 win over Aldershot Town, who had goalkeeper Ross Worner sent off 10 minutes into the second period, while Billy Kee scored the only goal after 11 minutes as Burton Albion beat Macclesfield Town.
