With defences on top at the Globe Arena in a 0-0 draw it was Morecambe keeper Barry Roche and Oxford United left-back Anthony Tonkin who caught the eye while Claude Davies' contribution as Crawley Town moved back to the top of the table earned the experienced centre-half a place at the heart of the defence.

Gillingham right-back Charlie Lee was another to star in a goalless draw, away at Macclesfield Town, but Rotherham United defender Johnny Mullins showed that defenders can impress at the other end too with two goals in the 3-2 win at Hereford United.

Another side to win on the road was Accrington Stanley whose two goals at AFC Wimbledon came courtesy of midfielder Padraig Amond and striker Craig Lindfield, the pair both adding a goal to a strong performance to earn their selection in the side.

Aldershot Town midfielder Luke Guttridge was on the mark again as his side beat Shrewsbury Town 1-0 and he is joined in the centre of the park by Cheltenham Town's Marlon Pack who played a key part in the Robins' impressive 3-0 win over Southend United.

Mustapha Carayol starred on the left for Bristol Rovers as they held in-form Swindon Town to a draw while Port Vale's Guy Madjo grabbed the winner for his side in a 2-1 win at Dagenham and Redbridge.
