Swindon Town were crowned npower League 2 champions as they thrashed Port Vale 5-0 to do it in style.

Matt Ritchie's powerful drive was all that separated the teams at half-time, but Paul Benson then added a quickfire brace around the hour mark and, two minutes after his second, Aden Flint volleyed in a fourth. Alan Connell put the cherry on top in the 85th minute.

Shrewsbury Town will join them in League 1 next season after beating Dagenham & Redbridge 1-0 through James Collins' 38th minute header.


Crawley Town missed the chance to all but seal their own promotion as they lost 3-0 at home to relegation-battling Hereford United.

Goalkeeper Michel Kuipers was at fault on the first two goals, allowing Joe Colbeck a simple finish after a defensive mix-up for the first, and then being easily rounded by Delroy Facey before Yoann Arquin slotted in the second. Substitute Arquin then added a third eight minutes from time.

That leaves Crawley level on points with fourth-placed Torquay United, who conceded a 90th minute equaliser to draw 1-1 with Play-Off chasing Crewe Alexandra. Crewe go into the final day needing to avoid defeat to make the Play-Offs after Oxford United went down 2-0 at home to Southend United.

Cheltenham Town are definitely in thanks to a 3-1 win over Bradford City in which James Spencer bagged a brace after they went behind to Nahki Well's eighth-minute goal.


At the other end, Macclesfield Town's relegation was confirmed as they lost 2-0 at home to Burton Albion.

Barnet preserved their two-point advantage over Hereford in the battle to avoid the second relegation spot as they beat AFC Wimbledon 4-0.

Bristol Rovers thrashed Accrington Stanley 5-1 and Plymouth Argyle salvaged a 2-2 draw at Morecambe, having led after just four minutes through Luke Young.

Rotherham United led twice but were held to a 2-2 draw away to Aldershot Town in a match which saw both teams reduced to 10 men late on, while Northampton Town and Gillingham shared the spoils in a 1-1 draw.
