Bradford manager Phil Parkinson is looking to bring several more players to Valley Parade.

Parkinson has drafted in defenders Andrew Davies, Rory McArdle, James Meredith and Stephen Darby, midfielder Gary Jones, wingers Will Atkinson and Garry Thompson and striker Alan Connell this summer.

"I still feel we need to make a few more signings to strengthen the squad because it's not quite strong enough yet," Parkinson told the club's official website.

Parkinson, whose side ended a week-long stay in Ireland with a 2-1 win over Bray, added: "But it's something we're working on all the time, and when we get those signings I think we'll be a strong unit.

"The season is getting ever closer now. The lads will keep working hard to improve and get themselves ready and my job in the background will be to bring in a couple more bodies in during the next week or so.

"We've looked at a few trialists here as well, so when Monday comes around I'll have a sit down with the chairmen to talk them through the options available to us to help improve our squad."
