Each week the Official Football League website will bring you the Team of the Week. Produced by the Press Association, the Teams of the Week features the eleven top performing players from each division from the weekend's matches.
Britt Assombalonga inspired Southend United to a significant 4-1 away win against fellow Play-Off chasers Torquay United and he deservedly takes his place in the npower League 2 Team of the Week.
The on-loan Watford striker has been on top form all season and was at it again in front of goal against the Gulls, firing home in the 39th minute and the 45th minute.
Centre-back Ryan Cresswell is the other Southend player to make the Team for his performance in the important win.
Northampton Town's Adebayo Akinfenwa is another striker in red hot form and he makes the Team of the Week for the second successive week after scoring two goals against Wycombe Wanderers in the Cobblers' 3-1 victory at Sixfields.
Alongside Southend's Cresswell at centre-back is Fleetwood Town's Steve McNulty. The powerful defender was pivotal for the Cod Army on Saturday as they kept one of only two clean sheets in the whole division, beating Plymouth Argyle 3-0.
The other clean sheet was kept by Exeter City as they overcame Bradford City 1-0 away from home. Goalkeeper Artur Krysiak played an important role in the win and he deservedly takes his place between the sticks.
Completing the defence is Chesterfield's Drew Talbot and Burton Albion's Damien McCrory.
Talbot is included for his impressive showing in the Spireites' 2-1 success against Oxford United, while McCrory makes the XI after he found the net against his old club Dagenham and Redbridge in the Brewers' 3-2 victory.
Table-toppers Gillingham picked up another win, 2-1 at home to Morecambe, and Lewis Montrose fired home in the triumph to take a central midfield slot. He capitalised on a mistake from Morecambe 'keeper Barry Roche to give the Gills a first-half lead.
Montrose is paired alongside Port Vale's Ryan Burge, who also scored, as the promotion-chasing Vale were held to a 2-2 draw at home to York City.
Completing the four-man midfield, and the npower Team of the Week, is Rochdale's Andrew Tutte and AFC Wimbledon's Stacy Long.
Tutte was vital for the Dale as they secured a 2-1 home victory against Bristol Rovers, while Long scored 13 minutes from time to rescue a point for the Wombles at home to Aldershot.
