Morecambe have made entry to their re-arranged npower League 2 match against Dagenham and Redbridge at the Globe Arena on Tuesday January 8th as free to all fans.

The club has made the decision in an effort to thank existing fans for their support this season as well as hopefully inspiring new supporters to visit the Globe Arena on a regular basis.

Announcing the decision, the Shrimps' chairman, Peter McGuigan, appealed for as many fans as possible to take advantage of the offer for the game which was rearranged after the initial fixture was postponed because of a waterlogged pitch in December.

He said: "This is a unique offer and we hope to see as many people as possible at the Globe Arena on Tuesday for this game.

"The date of the fixture is not ideal coming so close to Christmas and the New Year and we are realistic enough to know that it could be a particularly low crowd.

"So instead of looking at this fixture as a difficult sell, we have decided to turn this game into a positive story and we are confident that we will receive a positive reaction from not only our loyal fans but also the town and the surrounding districts in general.

"We know that money is tight for everyone and we want to give our fans something back. We hope supporters appreciate that offer and turn up in numbers to help make it a great atmosphere.''

The game kicks off at 7.45pm and all areas of the Globe Arena will be free entry, with turnstile entry to the home terraces from 6.30pm.

Tickets for the PMG Main Stand seating areas will be available from the club shop and the ticket office from 5.30pm on a first-come, first-served basis.
