The nominations for the npower League 2 Player of the Month award for December have been announced.
They are as follows:-
Scott Davies (Fleetwood Town)
While injuries forced changes in the defence in front of him, the 25-year-old was superb in marshalling a back line which let in just two goals all month, registering three clean sheets in the process. He also made a string of fine saves, particularly in the goalless draw against York City.
Ashley Grimes (Rochdale)
Five goals in five games for the enigmatic striker who demonstrated his goal scoring ability with a series of stunning finishes, including two in the 4-1 win over Cheltenham Town. Seemingly impossible to contain, he led a Rochdale attack which scored a mammoth 16 goals in December.
Sean Rigg (Oxford United)
Terrorised League 2 defences with his pace and direct attacking style as Oxford United went through the month unbeaten. His wing play proved decisive in setting up goals for his team-mates, notably in the 3-1 win at Exeter City, while he scored himself with a fierce shot at AFC Wimbledon.
The winners will be announced on Friday live on Sky Sports News, from 10am.
