Rotherham United have won promotion to npower League 1 following a 2-0 victory at home to Aldershot Town.

The Millers knew before the match that a win would be enough to at least seal the third automatic promotion place in League 2, and consign the Shots to relegation out of The Football League, and goals from Johnny Mullins and Lee Frecklington gave Steve Evans' men the result they required, which was their fifth victory on the bounce.

It rounds off a job well done by manager Evans, who took over at the South Yorkshire club towards the end of last season, and he will lead them out in the third tier next term - the first time they have been at that level since relegation in 2007.
