Colin Cooper admitted he was left stunned by his Hartlepool side's inability to score as they went down 1-0 to Fleetwood.

In four League Two games this season, Pools have yet to find the back of the net and have just a single point for their efforts.

Despite dominating the game for long periods, Fleetwood sneaked victory when Jeff Hughes scored after 15 minutes.

"It's frustrating again," he said. "For whatever reason we haven't won a game and I feel frustrated for the lads because of it.

"We just cant turn the ingredients and chances into genuine goals. It's not falling for us, or maybe we aren't doing enough for it to fall for us.

"I cannot ask any more than what they are giving or the way they are giving it - I just want to turn it around for our fans.''

Fleetwood boss Graham Alexander saluted his defenders for a job well done.

"We worked hard for it, a very tough game,'' reflected Alexander. "We defended more than I would have liked to and to come off with a win and clean sheet is very pleasing.

"You had to stand up and be counted and it comes down to heading it and getting in the way of the ball when you have to."
