Scunthorpe United striker Deon Burton will be out of action for up to six weeks after sustaining a calf injury in the 3-3 draw with Dagenham and Redbridge.

Burton, who was forced off in the 59th minute on Saturday, faces a spell on the sidelines after scans revealed a tear in his calf.

Iron manager Russ Wilcox told the club's official website: "We have had some bad news regarding Deon Burton who is going to be out for four-to-six weeks.

"He has a little tear in his calf and it is a re-occurrence of the injury he had a couple of weeks ago.

"That is a major blow for the football club because he has been outstanding, he gives us that different option up there.

"He showed us on Saturday what he is all about with his hold up play, strength and goals."
