AFC Wimbledon's on-loan midfielder Michael Collins has been recalled by parent club Scunthorpe United.

The 27-year-old started every one of the Dons' nine Sky Bet League 2 games since he moved to Kingsmeadow in February on a deal until the end of the season.

But Scunthorpe chief Russ Wilcox has opted to bring Collins back after being hit by a spate of injuries.

Dons boss Neal Ardley told the club website: "Michael did a great job for us and it was a pleasure working with him.

"He got stronger the more games that he had here and I hope he plays matches at Scunthorpe. We wish him all the best.

"It's an opportunity for other players to prove their worth now."
