Rochdale secured promotion to Sky Bet League 1 after they beat Cheltenham Town 2-0.

Early goals from Peter Vincenti (11) and Ian Henderson (16) proved enough for victory and Keith Hill's side could claim the championship with another win at Newport County on the final day of the season.

Hill will at the very least be able to celebrate his second promotion with Dale, either side of a spell in charge of Barnsley, who he will face in the third tier next term following their relegation from the Sky Bet Championship on Saturday.

Scunthorpe United were also promoted despite a 2-0 defeat at Exeter City, which ended a 28-match unbeaten run for manager Russ Wilcox.

Craig Woodman (45) and Jimmy Keohane (49) gave Nigel Worthington's Play-Off chaser victory, but a draw for fourth-placed Fleetwood Town with Southend United saw the Irons go up.

Fleetwood look set for the Play-Offs after the Shrimpers secured a point which also sees them in the promotion shake-up.

Steven Schumacher (37) put Fleetwood ahead, but Barry Corr (40) equalised for the Essex side.

Chesterfield are third, two points ahead and have two matches left, plus a vastly superior goal difference.

Torquay United were relegated to the Conference despite a 3-1 win at 10-man Mansfield Town.

However, with Bristol Rovers and Northampton Town both also collecting three points, it was not enough.

Morecambe won 3-0 at AFC Wimbledon to make sure they stayed up with two quick goals from Jack Redshaw and Jamie Devitt just before half-time, plus a late penalty by Pa draig Amond.

Wycombe Wanderers, though, are in the relegation zone after going down 2-1 at home to Bristol Rovers.

Northampton renewed hope of beating the drop with a 3-0 win at Dagenham & Redbridge with a brace from 18-year-old Ivan Toney.

Accrington Stanley are safe after they won 2-1 at out-of-form Oxford United, while Plymouth Argyle drew 1-1 at home to Hartlepool United.

Wes Fogden scored a stoppage-time equaliser to earn Portsmouth an action-packed 4-4 draw at Bury, where Hallam Hope had plundered a hat-trick for the hosts.
