Mansfield Town have announced that long-serving goalkeeper Alan Marriott is to leave the club.

The 35-year-old had been in negotiations over a new deal, but they have broken down and he is now free to speak to other clubs.

Marriott has made 201 league appearances for Mansfield over five-and-a-half years at the club, keeping 66 clean-sheets. He gained promotion with the Stags back to The Football League in 2013.

"Alan has been a tremendous servant to the club in the years that I've been here and I'd like to place on record my thanks to him for his efforts," manager Paul Cox told the club's official site.

"I wish him every success in the future."
