Accrington forward George Bowerman has signed a new one-year deal.

The 22-year-old made 17 appearances last term, netting three times, and Stanley manager James Beattie is delighted to secure his services for 2014/15.

Beattie told the club's official website: "George is a goalscorer. I think he missed out last year with not having a pre-season and his form was a bit indifferent but I know that there's a very good player in there.

"I think by his own admission he was doing a lot of travelling last season but we're sorting that out and if we can get George scoring goals on a regular basis that will be great.

"I don't think there's a better finisher at the club and I'm delighted to have his services for the next 12 months."
