Burton Albion have announced the signing of goalkeeper Jon McLaughlin on a one-year deal.

McLaughlin left Bradford on Tuesday after failing to agree a new contract with the Bantams. The 26-year-old Scot had played 138 times for the West Yorkshire club since arriving in 2008 and played 48 times last season as they retained their League One status.

Delighted Burton manager Gary Rowett told the club's official website: "He brings experience. "He's played over a hundred games for Bradford and was ever-present in League One.

"He was as good as any other goalkeeper in the division, so I'm pleased to get him on board."

McLaughlin arrives at the Brewers to rival Dean Lyness for the number one spot and the competition is expected to start on Wednesday evening, as he is expected to play some part of their friendly against Mickleover Sports.
