Mansfield Town have signed Swiss goalkeeper Sascha Studer on a one-year deal.

The 22-year-old, who holds the record for being the youngest ever player to start a Swiss Super League match in 2007 aged 15 years, six months and 18 days, was a free agent after leaving FC Winterthur in Switzerland.

Studer told Mansfield's official website: "I am so excited about this opportunity.

"I decided last year that I wanted to pursue a career in England and now that it is finally happening I could not be happier.

"The Leeds game was an amazing experience for me and the fans were brilliant and got behind me.

"The manager, staff and players here at Mansfield are great and I can't wait for the League to begin. Everybody has made me so welcome."

Studer kept a clean sheet in the Stags' 2-0 win over Leeds on Tuesday.
