Cambridge United have captured the signature of Senegalise midfielder Issaga Diallo on a one-year contract, pending international clearance.

The 27-year-old Frenchman, who represented lower-league clubs Montceau Bourgogne and Saint-Louis Neuweg in his home country before switching to Swiss sides Locarno and then Servette, spent the second half of last season at Hungarian outfit Kaposvari RFC.

U's director of football Jez George told the club's official website: "Issa has been with us for a couple of weeks and played against Braintree, MK Dons and Sutton. He has really impressed Richard (Money) and is a player that we feel could really add to our squad for the coming season.

"Things have been a little protracted as we have been dealing with Issa's representatives in France, but we are delighted to have completed the deal."
