Mansfield Town have signed goalkeeper Cameron Belford on a non-contract basis.

Belford has been brought in to provide competition and cover for fellow summer signing Sascha Studer and he could go straight into the Stags squad for their Sky Bet League Two opener at Northampton on Saturday.

The 25-year-old made 78 league appearances for Bury during a six-year stay at Gigg Lane, which spanned from 2007 to 2013.

He played for Tamworth last season where he was an ever-present for the Conference club, keeping 10 clean sheets in 46 outings.

Belford began his career at Coventry and has also had loan spells with Southend and Accrington.
