The Football League Trust was established in 2007, funded by the Premier League, the Football Association and the Professional Footballers' Association.

Continuing the pioneering work of the national Football in the Community programme, The Trust now brings together and advocates the very best approaches to community work across the 72 community trusts linked to Football League clubs, and has become a leader in the fields of youth and community development.

The Football League Trust's role is to manage Community and Youth Development activities at Football League clubs.

Led by General Manager Mike Evans with a team of dedicated staff, The Football League Trust is responsible for managing funding strategies in both areas.

Greg Clarke, Chairman of the Football League, said: "Mike Evans is a highly motivated and passionate advocate of the important work done by The Trust and has a wealth of experience.

"After several successful years The Football League Trust is flourishing and I am confident that Mike will take it from strength to strength."

Gordon Taylor, Chief Executive of the Professional Footballers' Association , said: "We have a very strong relationship with The Football League Trust and the way the community projects continue to develop is one of the most successful concepts in football."

Through the power of football, The Football League Trust aims to make a difference to people's lives by providing them with the best possible opportunities and recognising their achievements to inspire them both inside and outside of the game.

The Football League Trust's focus is to be recognised as the leader in Youth and Community development, while The Trust is also committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.

The Football League Trust is also a responsive, counselling and advisory organisation, clear in its direction and forward thinking in its approach.
