The charitable arm of The Football League Trust, The Football League (Community) Ltd is one of two subsidiary organisations which fall under the umbrella of The Trust.

Funded by the PFA and Premier League's solidarity payments, the community programme was introduced to help broaden the relationship between professional football clubs and their local communities.

Aspiring to be recognised as the leader in community development, The Trust will help develop people by using the power of football to make a difference, inspire beliefs and change cultures, through focusing on the 6 key areas of sport participation, health, social inclusion, education, disability and the environment.

By introducing 3 levels of funding (Bronze, Silver and Gold), The Football League Trust works to help each community scheme improve and expand, by implementing agreed criteria relating to each level of the funding. All levels contain increased strategic development criteria, training opportunities for all Community Staff, quality assurance and accountability.
