Reading Football Club have launched their 'Enjoy the Match' campaign, designed to encourage more families and young fans through the turnstiles.

The Enjoy the Match is an initiative being rolled out across all 72 clubs in The League designed to promote a family friendly atmosphere at games free of bad language and anti-social behaviour.

The Royals welcomed young children and their families to the Madejski Stadium for the Championship clash against Watford on 26 September when Manager Brendan Rogers signed the special Enjoy the Match shirt.

"Reading Football Club is committed to making sure everyone 'Enjoys the Match' when they visit our stadium," said Chairman Sir John Madejski.

"We were delighted to support this initiative at our home match against Watford.

"At Reading, we pride ourselves on creating a family-friendly environment which allows men, women and children of all ages to enjoy every matchday experience at Madejski Stadium.

"We will continue to promote this positive message in every home fixture we host in 2009/10 and beyond."

On the day, Freestyle World Champion Abbas Faird was on hand to teach his tricks to Young Royals who also got the chance to practice their shooting skills in the special Speed Cages.

And families took advantage of the discounted family meals on offer throughout the concourse with five youngsters, including Alex Rolph, parading the Enjoy the Match banner prior to kick-off.

"Alex had a truly wonderful day and has been in awe since!" said his mum, Sam.

"We had heard from other Young Royals how friendly everyone at the club is, and we were amazed and delighted to see just how true this is."
