Three budding young journalists are to be given the chance of reporting from Wembley following the announcement of the winners of The Football League's Junior Reporter Competition. Each participating club had run their own local competition to find a representative to be put forward to the national stage of the competition. One winner has now been selected for each division, with the winners being:
CHAMPIONSHIP: Reading - Sam Keogh (age 14)
LEAGUE 1: Scunthorpe United - James Moody (age 13)
LEAGUE 2: Barnet - Adam Hern (age 13)
Many congratulations to Sam, James and Adam. They will now be invited along to Wembley for the Coca-Cola Football League Play-Off Final for their division and given the chance to write a match report to appear here on www.football-league.co.uk.
National football writer Tony Leighton judged the competition. Tony, whose work appears in newspapers such as the News of the World, the Guardian and the Sun, plus websites including The Football League, the FA and BBC Sport Online, will be on hand at Wembley to offer the young journalists some advice and guidance.
The competition, open to children aged 14 years and under, was run as part of The Football League's 'Fans of the Future' campaign.
