Youngsters in Macclesfield and the surrounding area get the best deal in the Football League from their local club with the Silkmen offering Under 16 tickets for just five pounds and free entry for any fan under the age of 12.

Whilst some other clubs run junior membership schemes, discounted season tickets or free entry up to the ages of seven or eight or in certain areas of the ground, the Moss Rose offer beats them all.

The Silkmen are the only club in the country that offers an open invitation for Under 12's to attend live football absolutely free of charge anywhere in the stadium with no prior membership required.

Child prices throughout the Football League range from the Silkmen's excellent offer to as high as £12 a game at some clubs, with some Premier League clubs charging upwards of £20.

Macclesfield Town chairman Mike Rance said "This is an initiative we have been running for a few years now and are hopeful we are sowing the seeds of loyal support amongst the Silkmen of the future.

"In addition to this, last season we invited local youth football clubs to the Moss Rose for every home match and as a result hundreds of youngsters were able to enjoy both watching their local team and meeting the players after the game.

"We're planning on doing something similar again this season and even expanding the initiative.

"Young supporters are the future of this football club and we want to do everything we can to encourage families and youth groups to attend the Moss Rose.

"In a time when cash is tight for everyone we think these children's ticket prices mean the Moss Rose can be a great value day out for all the family. I'm very pleased to discover that we're top of the League in this respect"
