Hannah Tongue, Charlie Ibbotson and Luca Gallone have been named as the Football League Junior Reporters for the 2009/10 season after winning a nationwide competition to report on the Play-Off Finals at Wembley Stadium. (Click on the winners' names to read their reports)

Every year, clubs in all three divisions select a junior reporter to be entered into the national stage of the competition. The three divisional winners are then picked by Sports Journalist Tony Leighton to attend, and to write match reports for, their respective Coca-Cola Play-Off Final for The Football League website.

Hannah, aged 10 and representing Nottingham Forest, will sit in the Wembley press box this Saturday to cover Blackpool v Cardiff City whilst Charlie, aged 14 from Leeds United and Luca, aged 14 from Burton Albion, will write-up the League 1 and League 2 Finals a week later.

"With the expansion of sports coverage we are seeing, not only in the press and broadcast media but also in ever-increasing online content, it's important that journalistic standards are maintained," said Leighton whose work appears in newspapers such as the News of the World, the Guardian and the Sun plus websites including The Football League, the FA and the BBC Online.

"This Football League competition promotes that aim amongst potential sports writers of the future."

In addition to writing a match report, the trio of aspiring writers and their families will be treated to a VIP media day out by The Football League which will include a behind-the-scenes look at match-day media, attending the post-match press conferences and interviewing players and managers in the mixed zone after the game.

Plus, all of the club winners have received an official Football League goody bag containing a certificate, t-shirt, reporter's notebook, a Football League pin badge, Panini stickers and album as well as a copy of Match of the Day magazine.

"It has been another exceptional year in the Junior Reporter Competition," added Football League Marketing Executive, Andy Dodd.

"All of the children involved should be highly commended for their efforts, the level of writing has been very impressive and it was a tough task picking the three overall winners. Last year's winners had tremendous days out at Wembley and we hope this season's winners thoroughly enjoy their experience too."

The Junior Reporter competition forms part of The Football League's 'Fans of the Future' campaign which aims to attract more young fans and families to watch live football and start a lifelong passion for the game.
