The Johnstone's Paint Trophy is back tonight, with teams fighting out it out for a place in the Area Semi Finals.

Seven of the Area Quarter Final ties will be played tonight, with the final tie between Brighton & Hove Albion and Swindon taking place next week, due to Brighton's involvement in the Carling Cup tonight.

There are some cracking games in prospect, first up Bournemouth take on Colchester tonight, hoping to go all the way in the competition they were the first ever winners of, back in 1984.

On that occasion they ran out 2-1 winners over Hull City, how things change! While Hull City are now playing in the Premier League, Bournemouth are fighting to get back on level terms in League 2. The Cherries are currently on -3 points and second bottom in the table but the arrival of Jimmy Quinn has helped changed fortunes. Since his arrival Bournemouth have won 4, drawn four and lost four.

Colchester are another team enjoying a change of fortune following the arrival of a new manager. Paul Lambert has seen his new side, win two, draw two and lose two since he took over last month.

Rotherham United will be hoping for another cup shock when they take on Leicester City in the Northern section. They have already beaten Championship sides Wolverhampton Wanderers and Southampton, in the Carling Cup, and Leeds in the last round of this competition and now Mark Robins is looking for more success:

"I want to put out the strongest possible side, I want to treat all competitions the same," said Robins. "I don't know what Leicester are going to do but I hope they are at full strength as well.

"It's certainly another interesting one to follow on from Leeds in the last round. That win was one of the highlights of the season and we've now been handed another difficult one."

Another tie to keep your eye on is also in the Northern Section as table topping Darlington take on Bury, who up until a few weeks ago were themselves at the top of the league.

Despite the Quakers targeting promotion to League 1 they're hoping to go to Wembley as well:

"It does feel like there is a bit of momentum at the moment and it is nice but we need to keep that going - we can't allow it to slip," said Assistant Manager Martin Gray.

"We want to carry the form into the Johnstone's Paint Trophy, and it is a competition that we will take seriously.

"I think in the earlier rounds some people do see it as a bit of a distraction, but when you get to these rounds there is that prospect of a big day out at Wembley somewhere down the road, so no team can say they're not taking it seriously."

The rest of the ties are as follows: -

Northern Section

Scunthorpe v Rochdale, 19:30
Tranmere v Morecambe, QFN, 19:00

Southern Section

Walsall v Luton, QFS, 19:45
Shrewsbury v Dag & Red, QFS, 19:00
