Rotherham United and Shrewsbury Town players alike were elated to receive their team of the round trophies after their winning performances at the second round match's w/c 6th October 2008.

Representing the north, Rotherham United booked their place in the Johnstone's Paint Trophy Quarter Finals after a brilliant accomplishment in the game against Leeds United, a side currently located in 2nd place in League 1. The final score was 4-2.

Miller's boss, Mark Robins was in a buoyant mood after his side claimed a night of cup glory: "It was a great feeling to win but what I was particularly pleased with was the manner that we did it. We put in a really good disciplined performance which included some quality football and we deserved to go through."

Stewart Whitelaw, a Johnstone's Paint stockist representative, met with the team on Thursday 30th October to hand over the well-deserved trophy:

"The Miller's have been on fantastic role recently. They have already knocked out three Championship clubs this season and now they can add League 1 side Leeds to their list of victories.

"It was a pleasure to be able to deliver the 'Team of the round' trophy to the team and I truly hope their success continues".

In the south, Shrewsbury Town cruised into the southern section Quarter Finals after a 7-0 victory that ended Wycombe's cup dreams. Local Johnstone's stockist representative, Jeremy Sayce, delivered the trophy as an early Halloween treat on the 31st October 2008 to a delighted Grant Holt, Paul Simpson and Kevin McIntyre.

Paul Simpson, Shrewsbury's manager, was delighted with the result: "We couldn't have really asked for anymore for the lads, it was a tremendous performance from every single one of them."

Holt, who scored five of the seven goals, is still ecstatic from the match: "I've never scored five goals before and if you ask a lot of people I doubt you will find many that have."

The battle for the title will now continue on 4th November 2008 with Rotherham United taking on League 1 side, Leicester City and Shrewsbury Town against League 2 side, Dagenham & Redbridge.
